Samsara
All sentient beings endure the pain of birth, aging, sickness & death. This infinite existence is samsara.
In this expanding universe, there is infinite time and space, inhabited by infinite beings, all having an experience of life be it as short as a blip of a second, or aeons of years. They all come into, and exit out of existence at one time or another like actors on the grand theatre stage. In Buddhist scriptures, the word “ocean” is often used to quantify the number of beings in existence because the molecules that make up the ocean are incalculable. (Samsara is a Sanskrit word that translates to ‘wandering through’ or ‘aimlessly wandering’).

Sacred geometry is the study of spiritual meaning in various spatial arrangements. Symmetry offers a balance that resonates with humankind because of our bilateral physiology. We find a sense of balance, beauty, calmness in symmetrical compositions.
Jacqueline Shiu uses Chinese classical, Tibetan Thangka, & French art nouveau motifs in her paintings to illustrate the truth, the good, and the beautiful. Geometric proportions & symmetry express dignity, righteousness, and order; organic lines & shapes embody the complexity and depth of human emotions; detail & intricacy reflect human dedication and perseverance; and flowers are symbolic of grace and perfection.
